Bastia is easily reachable by plane, but not only. For those who want to see Europe as well, it is recommended to take the train to Italy and then go by ferry to Bastia. You can also get to Bastia by car, which would really be a good idea if you want to explore the surroundings as well.

The closest airport is the International Bastia – Poretta Airport, which takes in flights from almost every part of the world, not to mention major cities in Europe.
By car
Bastia is connected to the rest of Corsica by a good road network. Ajaccio can be reached in 2 1/4 hours.
By train
You can reach Bastia by train with the SNCF coming from Ajaccio, Calvi or Ile Rousse.
By ferry
Bastia ferry port provides an important gateway to Southern France and Italy with regular ferry services to and from Nice, Savona, Toulon, Genoa, Marseille and Livorno.
Get around
The best way to really take in the beauty of Bastia is to explore the town on foot. Of course if you get tired you can always take a bus. It wouldn’t really be recommended to drive around town since Bastia is mainly pedestrian friendly.
